NO MORE POLICE BRUTALITY AGAINST IMMIGRANTS!
JOIN THE PROTEST!
THUSDAY 28TH AUGUST 19.00am OMONOIA sq
Organizers: Antiracist and Immigrants organizations
YRE-CWI meets GERANIOU & PIREOS 18.00am
Brothers and sisters,
Tony Onuoha, a 27 years old Nigerian immigrant residing in Thessalonica is no longer with us.
Like all other immigrants and refugees he came to Greece for a better life and at the end he met his own death because of the Greek police brutality.
Struggling for survival he was selling cd’s and that was an unforgivable “crime” for the two undercover policemen who hunted him on Saturday 18th of August. Faced again, in the past, with police abuse, Tony ran to the first floor of a cafeteria, was trapped and finally fell out of desperation from the balcony. His injuries were fatal.
So far Governmental and Police officers claim that no policeman is involved and that Tony’s death is an unfortunate accident! But none of us bites these fat lies!!
The same time the calls of the Nigerian embassy’s officers to all Nigerians to stay back, to avoid protests and wait for the Police inquiry results, is a great help for those in power who wish to hide the truth.
WE MUST NOT let Tony’s murderers remain unpunished! And for us to meet up this goal it’s not by rioting but by adopting peaceful and mass struggle methods (rallies, protests, petition etc).
Only by protesting together with Greek antiracist workers and youth can we achieve a full and open to the public inquiry and the punishment of those responsible.
Its not just for Tony to rest in peace, its for all of us to realize that against insecurity, deportations, capitalist exploitation, racism and for our rights to be respected we must not cry, we must not react as individuals but we must fight collectively!
Let us make our anger fuel for mass struggle!
